CONTEST + EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEAK of Stark’s product lineup.

SO MUCH EXCITEMENT!

So here’s the dealio. My products will be launching in Feb 2012! That’s in like, a few weeks! So I wanted to finally get it off my chest and tell everyone just what the heck is awaiting them.

POST A COMMENT BELOW, AND TELL ME WHY YOU LOVE NATURAL SKINCARE! Why? Because someone will win this entire line! Worth over $100! Yay!!

Without much further ado, here is the first official line up of products by Stark Skincare:

Grapefruit Cleanse + Hydrate Balm
This is a multi-functional balm full of yum such as Shea butter, coconut oil & cocoa butter, as well as a bevvy of other delights, that can (and really, should) be used as both a cleanser/makeup remover a la cold-cream styles (I’ll explain more about that in another post…or buy the product and find out!) AND as a super-hydrating all-over cream! it smells of, in case you haven’t guessed, fresh and uplifting grapefruit!

Cypress Purity + Defense Oil
This here facial oil/serum is perfect for city life. It smells of fresh evergreen woods, with a sweetness and brightness of citrus, and is packed with 5 plant-oils that protect and undo UV damage, load your skin with antioxidants and rejeuvenates skin by renewing cells, perfect for skin that’s been in one too many climate-controlled offices and sat in traffic for a couple hours. Oh, and the cypress oil is used in aromatherapy for it’s de-stressing and uplifting benefits.

White Willow Bark Perfecting Tonic
This wonderjuice is way more than a toner. It’s more of a…perfecting tonic! Soothing ingredients such as aloe, cucumber and watermelon meet the blemish all-stars white willow bark and witch hazel to have a beautiful dance of good and evil on your face. The results? Radiant, clear skin! White willow bark contains salicyc acid, which helps renew skin and clear up blemishes. This formula is gentle and contains no alcohol, it’s also non-drying!

Green Tea Detox Clay Mask
This mask comes in powder form, which means you add your own liquid of choice each time you use the product. I like a few drops of green or rooibos tea, but you can get creative (yogurt and/or honey are amazing, if you do use them).  I chose French green clay and Rhassoul clay for this mask because they are detoxifying, drawing impurities from the skin gently and effectively, but they are also full of skin-benefiting minerals. Green tea is probably the #1 indisputable effective health food ingredients, for both the inside and outside of the human body. Loaded with antioxidants, reducing sun damage and even helping the skin build up it’s own natural defenses! Apple extract is used for it’s gentle AHA’s, which gentle slough off dead skin cells. Apple extract also helps skin retain it’s elasticity! Skin is left super impossibly soft afterwards.

For the full treatment, I’ll wash my face with the Grapefruit balm, do the Green Tea mask, wash it all off with water, use a couple spritzes of the tonic then massage in the Cypress oil. A-MAY-ZING!

Fresh, clean, baby butt soft, and prepped to face the wild, wild world!

If you need more reasons to try out Stark’s lineup (what? you’re crazy! Why would you need anything more than baby butt soft skin?) then read on, my friend…

These 4 products are special because:

1. They’re 100% plant-derived (not including the clays, which aren’t exactly from plants but as natural and nature can get, naturally), vegan friendly, cruelty-free (obviously, I’m not a monster), look AMAZING thanks to Poly Studio…the awesomest designers in Canada, I’ve decided, and are packed in so much eco-friendly delightfulness it’ll knock your bamboo socks right off! Oh, and they work like magic and smell like bottled happiness itself, if I do say so myself. And I do, of course.

2. These are the very first all natural products made for city life!
Seriously! Every product is jam-packed with antioxidant-rich ingredients that help fight off free radicals that we get bombed with every day just by merely existing in a city. These ingredients help stave off pollution, the sun, stress, daily grime and crappy weather (hello blizzard outside my window, yes I’m talking about you).

3. Will be 20% off the regular price for a limited time!
Pretty self explanatory. The first round of sales will be offered at an introductory price! Lucky you for knowing this now, right?

There you go!!!! Any questions? Drop me a line… jessica@starkskincare.com

See you when all this goes down in Feb! xoxoxo

What do I love most about natural skincare? Hm, this is legit difficult to decide on lol. Honestly? Probably the fact that it straight up works a lot better. My skin has improved sooo much since I changed my products. We’re taught to “strip” our skin to keep it “clean” and natural products have showed me that while cleanliness is important, nourishment is far more crucial. I love using oils and butters for exactly this reason. Congrats on the launch!

Couldn’t have said it better myself! I get really irritated when people honestly believe it’s better to be thoroughly antiseptic than a little on the oily side.
Thanks for the support! Can’t wait to get my products out into the world again, and make some skin good n’ healthy!!

        haha, totally!
Mara’s got a point tho…my female cat loves to lick my fingers and knees when I’ve just moisturized. Nice to know she’s just getting some healthy coconut oils and Shea butter in her (although she doesn’t need the extra calories).

Eco friendly skincare has it’s “clear” benefits. (See what I did there?) Both allowing the user to feel pampered and like a little garden fairy. And, at the same time, leaving the propylene glycol to the car companies.

Specifically, I wanna tell you what I love about YOUR products. The grapefruit scrub?! Oh man. I used it during every shower I took on my 6 wk trip and cleared me up. PLUS! It was one of the luxury items that I chose to keep me feeling like a girl while on the road. It worked. :)

Can’t wait to try your new stuff. Especially interested in the perfecting tonic and grapefruit cleanse/balm! Exciting stuff, Jess!

Tee hee! *I blush* Thanks Jocelyn!
I think you’ll really like the Grapefruit balm… it’s like the Swiss army knife of natural beauty products! Smells similar to the scrub, and if you mix a little baking soda and/or raw sugar in your palm with it, you’ll have something very similar (but better, in my opinion!) to the scrub. The Perfecting Tonic I have to admit is really cool…sometimes I use a couple of spritzes instead of washing my face (don’t tell anyone).

You’re such a skincare guru! Full of knowledge and insight. And I won’t tell anyone about the spritzing. Promise. ;) p.s. I’m almost out of my terr’ma butter! I feel another order coming on. It’s kinda like franks red hot sauce. I put that sh*t on everything.

Ha!! That’s pretty much the best testimonial ever!

Terr’ma kinda got the boot…at least for now but you may see a new incarnation of it in the future. Again, gotta recommend the Grapefruit as a good alternative… you’ll definitely use it on and for everything. (It’s even good in hair. Really.) Also, the Cypress oil I’m personally addicted to. Good thing I’ve got a lifetime supply!

    1. Not tested on animals — this is a deal breaker for me and most products. Natural products do not need to be tested on animals or people and are therefore trustworthy for an animal rights advocate and animal lover.
    2. The product having no shelf life has an advantage for my skin — why should it? Having no shelf life means no preservatives! If people are becoming wary (finally) of the consumption of preservatives in food, then why, oh why would you allow yourself to smother your skin in it? Preservatives have no advantage for my skin; therefore, one is paying for additional ingredients that don’t even need to be there. Pure superfluousness! If one (the way Stark does) make one’s products when it is commissioned, there is simply no need for preservatives. Are you buying a product and then not using it for a year? Hell no!
    3. I have saved money by using natural products. This one may sound unbelievable– but I have not had to buy other products because the natural ingredients do not strip my skin. I have saved a lot of money on creams that I would have to lather my face in after using soaps. I have also saved money because I haven’t had to keep giving products trial times and finding all kinds of products that I don’t like.
    4. Pollution that goes down my drain — I worry about the environment and how the chemicals in non-natural products mix in with our waters once we use them. Even though this water is cleaned and filtered for future use, the factories and the pollution that is caused by having to clean the water create pollution.
    5. Living downtown for years, I know the need for the purity of product and for the gentle but frequent need for cleansing skin. My skin is sensitive and can’t take being washed by harsh soaps several times a day. Natural products allow me to wash more than a couple times a day.
    6. You get what you ask for. As somebody who has tried products for sensitive skin, trouble skin, combination skin, dry skin, oily skin, T-zone skin, I know that the product that I buy at the store will have a less than 50% success rate. These products are made to generalize skin needs for the public. Those companies don’t know what other factors need to be catered to, i.e. city living, multi-use.

Oh wow, where to begin! For one, I hate how the media tells women they have to look flawless and then pushes chemical ridden, cruely animal tested products that make you look “natural”. Well, sure I want to look as beautiful as the next women, i know society puts a high price on idealistic perceptions of beauty. And I don’t think i am ugly, but I do like to enhance my beauty with products. However, killing my body, slathering it with chemicals and turning a blind eye to the cruel testing employed by the companies is not something I am willing to subject myself to. Especially when there are wonderful, natural, vegan and 100% cruelty free products available. I try to avoid chemicals in my food, in my lifestyle, AND in what I “care for” my skin with.

I love natural skin care because I love to be able to actually read and understand an ingredient list. I love to know what is penetrating into my skin. I love to think that someone put a lot of thought into a product and I love supporting companies that are trying to make the world a more beautiful place by finding and sourcing natural ingredients from places and people I can feel good about.

Thanks for the giveaway! Fingers crossed!

Growing up I suffered with acne and eczema. I spent a lot of time at the dermatologist and my skin didn’t respond well to their treatments. Now as an adult I’ve realized how much my skin loves natural products. Doctors are working in the wrong direction. With natural products I’m thankful that no animals are harmed

When I was younger my health was always poor. Even as a child I felt tired and sluggish all of the time.My diet was poor consisting of processed foods and our family always used very cheap and chemically loaded products! I continued this lifestyle well into my teens until at 19 I had my first child. It was then I started to read labels and research what ingredients were in the products that I was buying. Now five children later,we follow an organic lifestyle and I feel terrific inside and out! My skin glows and so does my hair. My children aren’t sick like I was. They are healthy and happy and this is why I love natural skincare and natural products! :)

I love natural skincare because it still packs a punch without the harmful chemicals that devastate the environment. My skin is also really reactive, I break-out at the drop of a hat! Natural skin care lines are often missing the nasties that cause my skin to cause an uproar. Thank goodness for these options!

I love natural skincare for a few reasons.
    1) I like actually knowing what on earth I’m putting on, and therefore IN, my own body. Looking at the ingredients list for most mainstream cosmetics, cleansers, and so on, it’s more than a bit unsettling to see numerous not-quite-safe chemicals being used in them, or things I can’t even identify. I love being able to look at the labels for my natural products and know exactly what’s in them right off the bat.
    2) I love knowing that the products I buy are cruelty-free. As much as I like pampering myself, I’m not okay with doing it with products that have been inhumanely tested on animals in some lab somewhere. To me, even the best “miracle product” isn’t worth it if it comes at the cost of some poor animal being tortured.
    3) Also, like a lot of people have said, they just plain work better!

Best of luck with the relaunch!

The comitment to beauty and health while at the same time living up to the responsibility of taking care of our planet and our animal companions makes me proud. I want to use products that don’t have to be created in a lab full of test tubes, I want products that are the way mother nature intended them, clean and free of harmful chemicals! And when I look at my rescue animals, I feel good knowing that by choosing natural/cruelty free items I am making a difference, and using my voice to say NO to animal cruelty, and NO to harmful chemicals!

After being a slave to this corrupt cosmetic mafia/organization…I realized that they were not concerned with my health but my pocketbook. Yeah, their fragances and color and shiny advertisements had me in a trance. But, after looking at myself in the mirror and doing a whole lot of soul searching AND educating myself…I realized that my overall health including my skin and hair was not going to be truly healthy if I didn’t do something about it…..and so I made the switch. I love natural products. I am not afraid anymore, I can walk out the door and feel not only good about myself but also about the environment. Thank you.

I love natural skincare because I know I can feel good about what I put on my skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body and can absorb anything applied to it, so why not apply only the best, most natural products! My skin definitely does not need all of those unnecessary chemicals/fillers/preservatives. I would much rather put pure, active ingredients on my skin to get the best possible results.

Why do I love natural skincare products…? Because I know I’m putting something on my skin that will not harm it, its sensitive, and will not react harshly to my skin. I love having perfect skin because its what people first look at theres nothing more better than clear fresh skin. At the same time I know I’m not harming my skin or the environment with harsh chemicals, and i know I’m not supporting animal cruelty i’d rather pay a couple more cents for the product than knowing I’m putting something on my face that killed a defenseless innocent animal. And that is why I prefer love and enjoy natural skincare products(:

I love natural skin care products, but unfortunately I’m not always consistent with purchasing natural products. Sometimes, it’s money, or laziness that can get in my way from choosing what I know is right for me and animals. I have been educating myself more and more on what products are cruelty free, and I really get angry when I find out how much unnecessary ingredients are put into, many products that most of the western world purchases. I’m an American currently living in Denmark, and It’s really hard to find things that are labeled clearly, but I’m determined from now on to really take the time and search out cruelty free products!

As someone that’s been animal friendly for a very long time (won’t say how long LOL) its important that anything I use is veg, planet-friendly and animal-friendly. If I don’t eat it I won’t wear it and I won’t wash it down the drain after all. I’ve dealt with sensitive skin my whole life and find that products made from nature – not in a lab – are gentler and just as effective. I’m at the age where I need to have a better regimen but don’t want to use 12 products to wash/moisturize every day so like your 4-step system detailed in the preview sounds easy to use and frankly…delish! As I anticipate my pugs licking me in my sleep its super-important nothing in it that can harm them if they get the occasional ‘tasting’ :)

I think I love natural skincare (like Stark!) because it’s so refreshing and freeing to not worry that my shampoo will irritate my skin, or my lotion will make my hair greasy and gross if I touch it after cleaning my face. Plus once you get used to using natural products, it makes the air in Sephora almost unbearable… Much better for your lungs and your wallet! :)
