Ingredient Spotlight: Argan Oil

Argan Oil

A sleeping skincare giant in the west until relatively recently, argan oil (argania spinosa) is the desert’s gift to you. Found only in Morocco and lovingly referred to as ‘liquid gold’ by the locals, this oil certainly lives up to its title, and the hype.

Luxuriously overflowing with antioxidants galore, high vitamin E content makes argan an anti-aging genius keeping wrinkles away, lessening already present lines, and healing skin cells by reducing scarring. High in fatty acids yet incredibly light weight, argan is an oasis for for parched skin, nails and cuticles, even scalp and split ends.

Hydrating and promoting moisture retention, it gets absorbed incredibly quickly and easily, leaving skin rejuvenated with a youthful glow, and UV protected, without a greasy residue. Anti-inflammatory qualities calms skin conditions like psoriasis, acne, eczema, even chicken pox and arthritis. Oleic acid in argan regulates sebum production and levels, and linoleic acid prevents the buildup of dead skin cells, both thereby reducing the likelihood of acne, allowing rejuvenated fresh skin to glow. Don’t just lavish yourself from the outside: try argan inside out as a deliciously healthy option for cooking and salads.

The quality of this oil is as unmatched as it is rare: the argan tree, which lives up to 200 years old, only begins producing fruit (and therefore the nut and oil) at about 40 years old. This coupled with its limited geographic scope makes this oil as precious as the liquid gold nickname it deserves. And it feels so good because it is: all Stark argan oil is ethically harvested!
