argan oil gives you mermaid hair
You’ll notice that many of my products contain Argan oil. This is because Argan oil has intrigued me for quite some time, and I’m sure I’ll bring it up often in this blog…there’s a lot to be said about this fantastic oil.
Argan can be found it in many high-end cosmetics, usually boasted in the main copy, but found far down the ingredients list. Normally, the ingredients went something like: water, silicone, paraben, silicone, fragrance, argan, silicone, then a nasty lake dye. All that for only $65? Gee, score. *eye roll*.
I had to know what the big deal was about this so-called “Moroccan Gold”, so I took my inquiring mind where it always goes for a knowledge quench: the innernets!
The first time I got my hands on some pure Argan oil I knew that I had something very special in my hands…ok, it could have been the price of the stuff, but I also had a feeling that it was going to be something special. Research proved that I wasn’t wrong; Argan oil contains a ton of vitamin e, essential fatty acids, phytosterols, squalene, and all kinds of components that are said to have wicked anti-aging effects.
However, I was first and foremost interested in what it could do for hair.
A word or two about my hair. It’s long, pretty fine, and dry, dry, dry. It always has been, poor little mop. I put a little too much oil in my hair (I had no idea that so little went so far!) and instantly I could feel that my hair was sopping it all up. I have used other oils, olive, coconut, grapeseed, jojoba, but my hair loves nothing more than drinking up Argan oil. It leaves my hair silky and healthy, and I have noticed fewer split ends since I’ve been using it. For the first time, ever, I feel like something is making a noticeable difference to my hair’s health. Joy!
I now keep a little vial of Argan with Jasmine essential oil (fave!), and I smooth a drop through my hair every day. I’m pretty sure I’m well on my way to having the mermaid hair I have always wanted.
